EVERY year, air ambulance charities across the UK respond to over 8,000 road traffic collisions, many of which could be prevented through simple safety checks and greater awareness on the roads. Tragically, Brake reports that five people die on UK roads every day, with many of these incidents avoidable through simple precautions.
Highlighting Simple Actions That Save Lives
Working with national corporate partner Kwik Fit, Air Ambulances UK is encouraging drivers to check their tyres, brakes, and lights before setting out this winter. Small actions can make a big difference and help reduce the number of accidents, keeping both drivers and other road users safe.
The charity has launched a video campaign featuring Karun Chandhok, former F1 driver and Air Ambulances UK ambassador, alongside personnel from Kwik Fit and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity. The video demonstrates practical safety checks and showcases the lifesaving work of air ambulance crews, including:
