New #UKCharityWeek patron, Anna Kennedy OBE

Leading Autism Ambassador Anna Kennedy OBE has lent her support to Charity Today News’ ongoing drive to raise awareness of #UKCharityWeek after becoming the projects, first-ever patron.

Anna has given her support to #UKCharityWeek after playing a pivotal role in raising awareness of the inaugural campaign in 2016.

Held the first full week in December each year, #UKCharityWeek aims to bring charities closer to the public at a time of year when people are statistically at their most giving.

Anna is well known for setting up schools to provide an improved education and other facilities for special children affected by Asperger Syndrome and Autism. She has now expanded her support for these special children including two schools, a college, a respite home and AnnaKennedyonline, a charity that supports families and creates opportunities and a platform for individuals on the autism spectrum to showcase their talent in the performing arts world. Her Autism’s got Talent showcase is now in its 6th year and is a fabulous way of creating opportunities and a stepping stone for people on the spectrum.

We did not want just anybody, Anna is a real ambassador of our work and cares deeply for its ethos of helping charities raise their profile. Her support means a great deal to us, and will give our campaign a further boost as we edge ever closer to a record-breaking #UKCharityWeek 2017.”

Speaking of the appointment, new #UKCharityWeek patron, Anna Kennedy OBE said: “When Lee approached me and asked if I would be interested, my response was instant. The pleasure is all mine, and I look forward to playing my part in #UKCharityWeek 2017.”
